Long Distance Computer Magic

Have you ever left home and forgot a file that was on your computer or maybe you didn’t forget something but you would just like to be able to get on your computer at home to do some sort of task that you were going to do but just forgot.
Well I am here to help you out. This is going to be fun for both you and me, and you will get something out of it for FREE too! It’s a win win situation. (Don’t ask why I used that image. This has nothing to do with a phone but the catch phrase is nice. It makes me happy… lol)
Just imagine the ability to connect remotely with your computer from any computer in the world that has an internet connection. It’s a beautiful thing when you think about it. This ability has been around for a good while, but now it’s just starting to become main stream with regular pc users. I have been using a remote service for close to 3 years now and I don’t know how I ever got along without it. I currently use gotomypc.com
They charge $19.99 a month for a connection to one computer and lots of other cool features. Well, I’m not going to talk a lot about gotomypc because I said the word FREE earlier and I just know you don’t want to talk about prices 
There is a new service provider available for remote access and they are called Logmein.com
When you register for your account on logmein.com you just provide your basic info (absolutely no payment information!) There FREE basic service allows you to have a remote connection with your home computer and any other computer that you would like to be able to connect to remotely. Even if you don’t plan to use this feature daily, you would have to be crazy to not at least sign up and have your computer accessible. You never know when it could come in hand.
Now when you first sign up with Logmein.com they do immediately turn on your 30 day free trail to the Pro version of Logmein. The Pro version allows you to drag and drop files from your home pc to the one your currently working from and vise versa. It also allows you to print documents from your home computer at the place that you are currently accessing your home computer from. Pretty crazy huh
But once the 30 days runs out, you will just be reverted back to the basic free version of Logmein. Which you can still connect and use your computer.
